Environmental Education a Comparison of Models

Today, just a few of schools give to their students a opportunity to share knowledge that
Coltec does. In the past few years a partnership of Coltec with schools in Argentina and
Sweden started a exchange of people and information among those places. There are groups
of students that share common ideas and, being oriented by a teacher they spend their
time and energy collecting information to make the experience worth their sacrifices.
We interviewed a group whose project is to analyze how the environmental education
influences on the developing of environmental awareness.

They started reading some bibliographies about the theme and they did a comparison of
education model applied on Brazil and the ones that are applied in Sweden. Their first
result is a panorama. Here in Brazil there's a lot of speech about environmental awareness
but the action from the people and from the government is too small, on the other hand
in Sweden we see that they say a lot but there's also a lot of action and a mass awareness
what makes of them one of the cleanest countries in the world.

The structure of their questionnaires and methodology is not finished yet, because they will
hear some ideas from the Swedish teachers and students to make the project as comprehensive as possible.

  1. The partnership that has Coltec with schools from Argentina and Sweden, provides students with great opportunities for professional growth. The exchange is added to the curriculum increasing the probability that students get a better internship or even a job.

The interchange is a big opportunity of learn and exchange cultures and experiences with other persons. Learn about the systems of environmental preservations in other countries where it works is the better alternative for implant a model of sustentability.
